What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded Linux software for medical devices used in acute care settings like OR, ICU, and Emergency Departments.
• Integrate software with hardware components such as displays, cameras, sensors, and various communication interfaces.
• Implement and maintain secure boot processes, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and system diagnostics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of software, hardware, mechanical, and systems engineers to realize complex design goals.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation to support design controls and regulated product development.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering methods and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering or CS with 5+ years of experience (or Master's with 3+ years).
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ development for embedded systems.
• Experience working within Linux-based embedded environments.
• Hands-on experience with communication interfaces including USB, UART, I2C, and SPI.
• Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization (sponsorship is offered exclusively for Principal-level roles and above).

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time software on microprocessor-based systems.
• Experience with embedded graphics or GUI libraries such as Qt or LVGL.
• Background in regulated development environments (medical devices, aerospace, or defense).
• Familiarity with standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and ISO 13485.
• Proficiency in Python or shell scripting.
