Principal Firmware Engineer (Embedded)

Location: Onsite in Broomfield, Colorado, within commuting distance. Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation benefits are not available.

Salary: $135,000–$155,000 per year, plus a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Define the architecture, implementation, verification, and validation of firmware for embedded metrology products.
• Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify embedded firmware.
• Develop and troubleshoot processor-level firmware using C, C++, assembly, and machine languages.
• Support hardware development and diagnostics around the processor, including analog and digital systems.
• Use emulators, communication-bus monitoring tools, oscilloscopes, and similar equipment to develop and debug products.
• Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, and scientists to solve complex technical problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and 8+ years of related experience.
• Experience developing embedded-system architecture and algorithms.
• Fluency in C and C++.
• Knowledge of and exposure to hardware design.
• Experience developing and debugging products with hardware and software diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work onsite in Broomfield, Colorado, and eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Graduate coursework.
• Experience with EtherCAT or comparable field buses.
• Experience with Python or FreeRTOS.
• Experience with STM32 processors.
