Senior Embedded Security Software Engineer (Embedded Security)

Location: Onsite daily at the customer site in the Linthicum, Maryland/Fort Meade area

Salary: $172,766–$221,801 USD annually. Qualified FSP hires may receive a sign-on bonus starting at $25,000.

What you will do

• Perform reverse engineering and forward development for complex wireless and embedded systems.
• Analyze binaries and file systems to map undocumented target architectures.
• Translate reverse engineering findings into functional software for firmware rehosting and custom emulation environments.
• Develop low-level software and automation scripts in Linux command-line environments.
• Make technical decisions under moderate supervision while following established team practices and company policies.

Requirements

• Demonstrated low-level software development experience in C/C++.
• Ability to write functional Python automation scripts in Linux environments.
• Practical experience with firmware reverse engineering or control-flow analysis using tools such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, or Binary Ninja.
• Hands-on experience configuring or modifying embedded binaries for firmware rehosting in emulation frameworks such as QEMU.
• Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Polygraph is required.
• Ability to work onsite daily at the Linthicum, Maryland/Fort Meade-area customer site is required.

Nice to have

• Experience using the Ghidra API or Binary Ninja API to automate binary or file system analysis.
• Knowledge of JTAG, SWD, or Software Defined Radio frameworks.
• Experience with RTOS or customized embedded Linux environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, software protection mechanisms, or binary fuzzing infrastructure.
