TL;DR
Lead Electrical Engineer (Spacecraft Power): Own electrical architecture for spacecraft power and avionics programs, including power regulation, battery management, isolated supplies, analog signal chains, and board- and box-level design, with an accent on high-voltage power, mixed-signal electronics, and spaceflight reliability. Focus on setting technical direction, reviewing and mentoring design teams, solving radiation, EMI/EMC, thermal, transient, and power-integrity challenges, and taking high-stakes hardware from concept through production.

Location: On-site at the Broomfield, Colorado headquarters; applicants must be a U.S. Person and meet U.S. employment eligibility requirements. Relocation support is available, including for candidates not based in Denver.

Salary: $190,000–$220,000 per year

Company

hirify.global develops spacecraft buses, integrated satellites, and turnkey missions for Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) between 250 km and 400 km.

What you will do

  • Own electrical architecture across spacecraft power and avionics programs, including EPS, bus regulation, battery management, isolated supplies, analog signal chains, and board- and box-level design.
  • Set EE technical direction with engineering management and lead architecture reviews, design reviews, and release gates.
  • Guide schematic capture, PCB layout, signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, grounding, shielding, filtering, and board bring-up.
  • Perform high-stakes power and analog design work, including thermal, transient, efficiency, isolation, protection, and high-voltage DC analysis.
  • Apply radiation effects, parts derating, stress analysis, reliability, and design-margin practices to flight electronics, including safe use of COTS parts in space.
  • Mentor electrical engineers and collaborate with FPGA/avionics, flight software, mechanical/thermal, and systems teams; support proposals with power architectures, budgets, compliance inputs, and BOM estimates.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of electrical-engineering experience and a BSEE; MSEE is preferred.
  • End-to-end hardware-design experience taking multiple designs from concept through production.
  • Deep expertise in DC/DC converters, battery management, bus regulation, isolated supplies, analog and mixed-signal design, and high-voltage DC power.
  • Hands-on experience with complex multilayer PCB schematic capture and layout, signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, lab measurements, board bring-up, and debugging.
  • Understanding of spacecraft radiation effects, including TID, SEU, SEL, and SET, plus COTS qualification, parts derating, reliability, and flight-electronics design margins.
  • Must work on-site in Broomfield, Colorado and qualify as a U.S. Person with authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Motor-control power stages and brushless-motor drive electronics experience.
  • Altium experience, Python for test automation and analysis, or automated parts-stress and derating tools.
  • MSEE and experience using AI tools for engineering design, review, analysis, and documentation.

Culture & Benefits

  • First-principles approach with fast iteration, calculated risk-taking, and outcome ownership.
  • Employee-friendly equity compensation and a 4% direct 401(k) match.
  • Health insurance covering 100% of employees and 75% of dependents.
  • Parental leave, childcare coverage, flexible vacation and sick time from day one, and 12 company holidays.
  • $100 monthly wellness benefit and relocation support.
