Lead Electrical Engineer (Aerospace): Leading the design, build, qualification, and production of flight-critical electrical hardware across avionics, power electronics, and fluid control systems with an accent on technical standards, reliability, and integrated hardware delivery. Focus on hands-on design oversight, qualification testing under DO-160 and MIL-STD frameworks, rapid hardware iteration, and developing the electrical engineering team.

Location: El Segundo, California, United States. Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR requirements.

Annual salary: $160,000–$260,000 USD

What you will do

  • Lead the electrical engineering function across product design, build, qualification, testing, and production release.
  • Manage, hire, mentor, develop, and retain electrical design and test engineers.
  • Set technical standards, design review processes, engineering best practices, and documentation controls.
  • Provide hands-on oversight of schematics, component selection, de-rating analyses, PCBA layout, debugging, and bench work.
  • Lead or support functional, environmental, and acceptance qualification testing under DO-160, MIL-STD, and applicable aerospace standards.
  • Partner with mechanical, software, build engineering, program management, business development, customers, and senior leadership to deliver integrated hardware systems and expand the electrical product catalog.

Requirements

  • Substantial electrical engineering experience with aerospace or defense hardware from concept through flight qualification and production.
  • Demonstrated success leading engineering teams and developing strong technical talent.
  • Deep technical fluency in power electronics, analog and digital circuit design, PCBA layout, component selection, and qualification testing.
  • Hands-on debugging and bench-work experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and other aerospace qualification and certification frameworks.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR: a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected person.
