Senior Director of Optical Test

What you will do

• Define and execute the end-to-end optical test roadmap across silicon photonics wafer probing, photonics package testing, optical engine characterization, optical module production testing, and reliability testing.
• Own test strategy, balancing coverage, tester throughput, test cost, capital expenditure, and product quality.
• Build and lead a global organization responsible for end-to-end test platforms.
• Drive manufacturing readiness, factory yield KPIs, production test bring-up, and volume ramp execution.
• Architect and deploy high-volume automated test equipment and yield-learning frameworks.
• Partner with photonics design, packaging, validation, operations, quality, reliability, foundries, OSATs, and global manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of semiconductor and/or photonics test engineering experience, including 10+ years leading complex test development programs and engineering organizations.
• Strong experience with silicon photonics production testing, optical module testing, and high-speed optical systems.
• Hands-on experience testing 100G, 200G, and 400G PAM4 optical modules and optical engine sub-assemblies.
• Expertise in production-scale photonics test systems, high-volume ATE platforms, yield engineering, SPC, reliability qualification, and DFT.
• Experience working with foundries, OSATs, and global manufacturing ecosystems, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with silicon photonics or co-packaged optics testing.
• Expertise in test automation, data infrastructure, and analytics-driven yield optimization.
• Familiarity with Telcordia and IEC standards.
