What you will do

• Set up and maintain laboratory test environments using BERTs, power meters, oscilloscopes, and traffic generators.
• Automate laboratory workflows and data collection with Python.
• Qualify and characterize 400G, 800G, and 1.6T optical transceivers across temperature, voltage, and traffic conditions.
• Validate optical module performance in switch ASIC systems and AI networking environments.
• Measure BER, power consumption, thermal stability, and link reliability under stress.
• Troubleshoot signal integrity, module behavior, and power or thermal issues with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience testing optical modules or electrical and optical systems.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed optical transmission testing, fiber links, BERTs, oscilloscopes, DCAs, power meters, OSAs, and thermal chambers.
• Strong Python scripting skills for laboratory automation, data collection, and analysis.
• Familiarity with CMIS, MDIO, or I²C interfaces and high-speed protocols such as Ethernet, PCIe, or SerDes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with 400G, 800G, or 1.6T pluggable modules, including QSFP-DD and OSFP.
• Knowledge of IEEE 802.3 Ethernet, MSA, or OIF standards, including CMIS.
• Experience validating hardware in datacenter or AI cluster environments.
• Familiarity with environmental and reliability testing such as temperature cycling and HTOL.
