Staff Fraud Risk Analyst (Fintech)

Salary: $176,500–$238,500 base pay

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and refine fraud risk strategies for credit card underwriting, transaction monitoring, and exposure management.
• Use data-driven and machine learning-enabled approaches to identify emerging fraud patterns and strengthen fraud defenses.
• Evaluate defenses using hit rates, false positive rates, A/B tests, and cost-benefit analyses.
• Partner with Data Science to identify modeling needs and improve fraud model performance.
• Create monitoring metrics, early warning indicators, trend analyses, and performance dashboards.
• Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Marketing, Operations, credit risk, and external vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
• At least 6 years of experience in fraud risk analytics and risk management.
• Experience with regression modeling, multivariate analysis, machine learning, risk scoring, and fraud prevention.
• Expertise with industry-standard fraud tools, platforms, and risk models.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with SQL, SAS, Python, R, and Tableau.
