Platform Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: London, UK; hybrid

Salary: £110K–£140K per year, plus discretionary bonus and equity

hirify.global is building a vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform that provides large-scale GPU compute, virtual machines, storage, networking, and software through a Kubernetes-native infrastructure stack.

What you will do

• Design and implement Kubernetes operators and controllers that manage platform resource lifecycles.
• Translate product roadmap requirements and operational learnings into scalable platform capabilities.
• Build and maintain platform components across control planes, APIs, compute, storage, confidential computing, or customer-facing services.
• Instrument services, define meaningful metrics, and develop tooling for platform observability.
• Own production services, participate in on-call rotations and incident response, and resolve structural reliability gaps.
• Define clean interfaces, manage versioning and backward compatibility, and contribute to code reviews and technical design discussions.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience, including meaningful infrastructure or platform systems experience.
• Strong backend or systems programming experience in a production environment; working languages include Python, Go, and Rust.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes internals, including control loops, CRDs, controllers, operators, and reconciliation logic.
• Working knowledge of Linux, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems behavior.
• Experience designing, building, and versioning production-grade APIs or service interfaces with backward compatibility.
• Experience operating production systems, debugging incidents, and applying clean code, testing, version control, code review, and CI/CD practices.

Nice to have

• Depth in Go or Rust, AI-assisted development, or Kubernetes operator frameworks such as Kopf or controller-runtime.
• Experience with confidential computing, including TEEs, AMD SEV, Intel TDX, or Confidential Containers.
• Experience with high-performance networking, distributed storage, observability tooling, SaaS or PaaS layers, serverless infrastructure, GPU infrastructure, or HPC environments.
• Experience integrating security requirements into platform systems or working across distributed time zones.
