Shift Manager - Days (David Berryman) - THG Manufacturing

Location: David Berryman manufacturing site, Luton, UK; onsite day-shift role.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop Production Operatives to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives.
• Deliver daily production plans, manage labour and equipment utilisation, and monitor operational KPIs.
• Drive health, safety, food safety, GMP, and HACCP compliance across production activities.
• Lead accident, non-conformance, root cause, and corrective action investigations.
• Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and operational teams to improve production performance.
• Promote lean manufacturing, reduce waste and downtime, and develop team capability through training and cross-skilling.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of leadership experience in FMCG manufacturing, food production, or a similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety systems, including GMP and HACCP.
• Demonstrable experience in people management, coaching, performance management, and employee engagement.
• Experience delivering continuous improvement and operational performance initiatives.
• Strong organisational, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English communication skills and competence with Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.

Nice to have

• Relevant manufacturing, food production, or operational management qualification.
• Food Safety and HACCP certification.
• Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or equivalent.
