Associate Manager Software Engineering

Location: United States; applicants must reside in the continental United States and be available for on-site client engagement. Client based in Bath, Maine.

Salary: $84,400–$156,800 per year.

What you will do

• Support software engineers with technical guidance, code reviews, and development assistance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver software projects.
• Mentor team members through feedback, coaching, and career development planning.
• Contribute to software engineering strategy, technology assessments, and strategic discussions.
• Manage project assignments, priorities, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while promoting innovation and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
• Typically 6+ years of relevant industry experience, including at least 2 years in a similar role.
• Proficiency in at least one software language and development methodology.
• Strong programming, debugging, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Experience in leadership or mentoring, with familiarity with software development best practices.
• Must be a legal US citizen residing on US soil; Green Card holders and visa-sponsored applicants are not authorized for this account. ITAR compliance, proof of citizenship, background check, and drug test are required.
