Senior Backend Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Bogotá, Colombia; Mexico City, Mexico; or São Paulo, Brazil. Hybrid work includes time in the office, customer interactions or visits, and working from home; office presence is expected organically and may be required during ramp-up or at the leader's discretion.

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of high-impact internal systems and backend services.
• Build an integration platform that connects hirify.global teams and AI agents to the ClarOps backend.
• Own system performance, scalability, and the evolution of microservices within a modern architecture.
• Collaborate across the product lifecycle from ideation through deployment and drive architectural discussions.
• Raise the engineering bar through code reviews, pairing, knowledge sharing, and cross-team problem-solving.
• Apply AI tools to accelerate delivery and improve team workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems using Kafka.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and modern development tooling.
• English proficiency sufficient to lead technical discussions across geographies.
• High autonomy, proactivity, ownership, and an active interest in applying AI tools to engineering work.
