Engineer V - Java

Location: Remote, Mexico; Mexico citizens only

What you will do

• Design features and organization-level systems spanning multiple teams and extended delivery cycles.
• Evaluate designs, make technical decisions, and guide priorities, trade-offs, and implementation plans.
• Build clean, robust, scalable backend solutions and optimize system performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, business stakeholders, program managers, and product managers to define technical solutions and functional requirements.
• Lead design and code reviews while maintaining high standards for code quality, testing, automation, and maintainability.
• Support cloud infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, and CI/CD pipelines with a DevOps mindset.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally across the full stack.
• Excellent proficiency in Java or another object-oriented language; strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, RESTful architecture, microservices, system design, scaling, and performance testing.
• Test automation experience across unit, integration, regression, and load testing.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, AWS, PostgreSQL, caching-based low-latency systems, logging, and metrics.
• Knowledge of messaging technologies and patterns such as Kafka and SQS, plus strong computer science fundamentals.
