TL;DR
Electrical Engineering Tech Lead (Autonomous Vehicles): Defining and integrating electrical and electronic systems for an autonomous vehicle platform with an accent on sensor, compute, power-system, and vehicle-level integration. Focus on leading bring-up and calibration readiness, solving complex system reliability issues, and supporting scalable manufacturing.

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Santa Clara, CA, United States

Salary: $200,000–$280,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the definition and development of electrical and electronic components and system architecture for autonomous vehicle platforms.
  • Coordinate integration of sensors, compute, and power systems across hardware, software, and systems teams.
  • Guide component and sensor selection, validation, and integration with key suppliers.
  • Oversee vehicle- and system-level bring-up for calibration, testing, manufacturing, and New Product Introduction.
  • Manage technical documentation, interface specifications, and manufacturing deliverables.
  • Investigate vehicle issues and improve system reliability through cross-functional collaboration with test, systems, and service teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience leading electrical system development for complex mechatronic, vehicle, or robotics platforms.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of camera, lidar, radar, and ultrasound sensors, including trade-offs and calibration strategies.
  • Experience with vehicle-level electrical integration, system reliability, design for manufacturability, and bring-up phases.
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, robotics, or automation environments.
  • Working knowledge of GMSL2, CAN, CAN-FD, and LIN; familiarity with Python, command-line tools, MATLAB/Simulink, embedded interfaces, and microcontroller architectures.
