Signal Integrity Hardware Engineer (SSD)

Location: Santa Clara, California; primarily in-office at the Santa Clara office

Annual base salary: $175,000–$263,000 USD. The role may also be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Own signal integrity analysis for SSD hardware from architecture through production.
• Drive PCB material selection, stackup definition, via structures, loss tradeoffs, and channel optimization.
• Perform insertion loss, return loss, crosstalk, TDR, impedance-profile, eye-diagram, jitter, and margin analysis.
• Lead TDR and S-parameter measurements, including calibration and de-embedding.
• Perform 3D-EM extraction and simulation for vias, connectors, and complex channel structures, and correlate models with lab measurements.
• Collaborate with PCB design, system, firmware, mechanical, and test teams while documenting design guidelines and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of signal integrity engineering experience for high-speed systems.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; an M.S. is a plus.
• Strong PCIe SI simulation experience, including channel analysis, eye simulations, jitter, and margin analysis.
• Hands-on TDR and S-parameter measurement experience.
• Strong understanding of PCB materials, stackups, and via structures from a signal integrity perspective.
• Deep experience with Simbeor and 3D-EM extraction and simulation, plus the ability to lead cross-functional technical work.

Nice to have

• Experience analyzing NAND and DDR channels.
• SSD design experience across different form factors.
• Experience with SSD standards and compliance testing, including PCI-SIG and NVMe.
• M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
