TL;DR
Lead Engineer – L1 Integration (Automotive EE/SW Integration): Owning vehicle- and system-level electrical and software integration for electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs with an accent on ECU integration, communication networks, validation, and release readiness. Focus on validating cross-domain behavior, diagnosing complex integration issues, and ensuring robust performance under fault, high-load, low-voltage, and environmental conditions.

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; onsite 4–5 days per week. Regular in-person meetings, events, and occasional travel are required.

Salary: $160,000–$192,500 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electrified and digitally enabled pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

  • Own vehicle- and system-level electrical and software integration strategy, execution, validation, and release readiness across multiple vehicle domains.
  • Integrate domain controllers and distributed ECUs into zonal or domain-based vehicle E/E architectures.
  • Validate CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet communication, including network topology, gateway routing, signal databases, bandwidth, and bus loading.
  • Coordinate integration across powertrain and electrification, body and comfort, ADAS, infotainment and connectivity, and central compute or zonal controller domains.
  • Lead system-level regression testing, root-cause analysis, integration war-room support, and approval of vehicle integration builds at program milestones.
  • Validate bootloader, flashing, memory and CPU budgets, wake-up and sleep behavior, diagnostics, OTA events, and functional KPIs under nominal, boundary, fault-injection, and environmental conditions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 12+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle E/E architecture, ECU software stacks, embedded systems, CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet, UDS diagnostics, and diagnostic communication tools.
  • Expertise with Jira, GitHub or GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, and ALM/PLM tools such as Siemens Polarion, IBM DOORS Next Generation, or PTC Windchill.
  • Experience developing and verifying plant and control models in MATLAB/Simulink for hardware-in-the-loop testing, including dSPACE ControlDesk and AutomationDesk.
  • Familiarity with A2B, LVDS, CANalyzer, CANoe, vehicle network tools, and automotive design and development processes.
  • Ability to work onsite in Novi, Michigan 4–5 days per week, collaborate in person, and travel for company events when required.
