What you will do

  • Develop systems engineering plans, processes, subsystem features, functions, requirements, architectures, and interfaces.
  • Manage systems engineering tasking and align hardware, software, safety, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Define subsystem test methods and testing strategies, and support verification and validation activities.
  • Review concepts of operation, system engineering artifacts, architectures, requirements, and interfaces with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Define and document autonomous behaviors and functions for AI-enabled flight-control systems.
  • Navigate new product development while maintaining safety across experimental, safety-critical systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 6–9 years of systems engineering experience, or equivalent experience with an MS or PhD.
  • Experience developing flight-control systems with machine learning or autonomy aspects.
  • Experience solving complex architectural and systems engineering problems.
  • Experience with requirements management tools and processes.
  • Ability to develop system-level requirements, architectures, and interfaces and perform requirements validation and verification.

Nice to have

  • Experience with FAA, EASA, or DOD certification programs.
  • Experience certifying avionics equipment using ARP4754A and RTCA DO-178B/C.
  • Experience with automatic flight controls, flight management, display systems, software requirements, or software verification.
  • Knowledge of FAA, EASA, or DOD regulations and standards, as well as model-based systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with Simulink, Cameo, IADS, or Jama.
