Senior Systems Engineer - Design & Development - HYBRID

Location: Hybrid, with travel to the Pittsfield, Massachusetts office once every 3 weeks. U.S. citizenship is required. A Department of Defense Secret security clearance must be obtainable within a reasonable amount of time.

Salary: USD $124,397–$138,003 per year.

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering across requirements analysis, functional and performance analysis, system design, trade studies, integration, verification, validation, and interface definition.
• Drive MBSE and digital engineering strategy using Cameo/MagicDraw, DOORS, SysML, and DoDAF to develop system architectures, models, and designs.
• Develop hardware and support systems for submarine and shore installations, including electrical and networking systems, equipment racks, servers, cabling, and user interfaces.
• Analyze design weaknesses, evaluate vendor and COTS/GFE/CFE products, and make technical decisions on complex engineering trade-offs.
• Support technical planning, cost and risk analyses, modeling and simulation, system accreditation, certification, and security documentation.
• Guide program milestones and reviews while leading, mentoring, and developing junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related science, engineering, or mathematics field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership of complex systems engineering efforts across the full development life cycle, preferably on a major defense or strategic weapons program.
• Highly proficient in MBSE, digital engineering, system modeling, requirements management, and tools including Cameo/MagicDraw and DOORS.
• Experience with hardware development for mission-critical computing or communication infrastructure and demanding environments.
• Strong critical-thinking, communication, negotiation, technical planning, and program leadership skills, including Earned Value, CAM, and SPI/CPI.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
