Public Affairs & Strategic Development Manager

Location: Hybrid; up to 30% business travel as needed

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Secure high-impact locations for bus stops and stations through government relationships and private-sector negotiations.
• Build strategic relationships with government agencies, municipal councils, regulatory bodies, businesses, transit agencies, and property owners.
• Lead regional strategy by aligning commercial objectives with government policies and identifying regulatory opportunities and risks.
• Represent the company in discussions with transportation authorities and media, and prepare materials for hearings and public consultations.
• Lead site acquisition while ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and safety standards.
• Serve as the primary contact for station-related and government-relations matters and manage up to two direct reports as organizational needs evolve.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or real estate development, including work with government entities.
• Demonstrated success owning business strategy and securing agreements with government agencies or private stakeholders.
• 2+ years of project management experience and strong knowledge of transportation regulations and public transit systems.
• 1+ year of people-management experience or experience leading cross-functional teams with indirect reporting lines.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder-management, policy-analysis, writing, communication, and presentation skills, with familiarity with real estate transactions, land-use planning, and infrastructure development.

• Experience with RFPs and grant writing.
