TL;DR
Composite Technician (Aerospace): Building and assembling composite components for the Neutron launch vehicle with an accent on laminating, bonding, vacuum bagging, curing, and mechanical integration. Focus on fitting advanced composite cores and thermal protection systems, performing precision measurements, and working safely in demanding production environments.

Location: Onsite in Middle River, Maryland, United States. The role requires standing and walking for 8+ hours, working at heights and in tight spaces, and flexibility for extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts. U.S. work authorization or eligibility to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations is required.

Base pay range: $22–$40 USD per hour, depending on level, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

What you will do

  • Build and assemble composite structures, including setup, bonding, fastener application, and mechanical hardware integration.
  • Laminate assemblies by placing composite materials and fit honeycomb, foam, and syntactic cores.
  • Prepare parts for vacuum bagging and perform vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven or autoclave curing.
  • Create basic layouts and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, precision scales, and torque wrenches.
  • Fit and refurbish thermal protection systems and apply standard aerospace composite manufacturing techniques.
  • Support other hirify.global products locally or travel as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Technician I: experience in composite production, military equipment maintenance, or mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair.
  • Technician II: 2+ years of relevant experience; Technician III: 5+ years; Senior Technician: 8+ years.
  • U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain applicable U.S. government authorizations under ITAR is required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 25 pounds and work around noise, temperature variation, and moving machinery.

  • Core bonding and splicing experience.
  • Broad manufacturing experience.
  • Aerospace composite experience.
  • Advanced prepreg manufacturing or resin infusion knowledge.
