What you will do

  • Prepare, seal, release, wax, and maintain composite molds.
  • Laminate composite parts using ply placement, templates, projection systems, release film, peel ply, breathers, and thermocouples.
  • Build and install vacuum bags, identify and seal leaks, and perform vacuum leak-down testing.
  • Demold, trim, bond, and prepare assemblies and bond lines.
  • Provide DFM feedback to engineering to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Document material usage, freeze/thaw status, cure cycles, and other production activities in internal systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a technician in prepreg composites manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of composite manufacturing practices including intensifiers or caul plates, adhesive films, core splicing, hard points, ply drops, and debulking.
  • Ability to read and interpret layup books and process-control work instructions.
  • Proficiency with calipers, scales, tape measures, torque wrenches, hand drills, and other common measuring and assembly tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, communication skills, and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work hands-on in an on-site production environment.

Nice to have

  • Aerospace or motorsport manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with both autoclave and out-of-autoclave manufacturing.
  • Experience across ply cutting, mold finishing and release, mold maintenance, lamination, bagging, curing, demolding, trimming, and finishing.
  • Experience with VARTM, compression or hot-press molding, trapped rubber molding, or wet layup.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required by customer timelines.
