Data Center Technician

Location: Auburn, Alabama, United States; full-time onsite. Minimal travel may be required, and shifts may vary according to the site.

What you will do

• Monitor power, cooling capacity, environmental conditions, and overall data center infrastructure health.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and critical electrical or mechanical issues as a first responder.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance for electrical and mechanical equipment with internal and customer stakeholders.
• Use CMMS and BMS data to track maintenance effectiveness, troubleshoot issues, and maintain facility records.
• Develop and execute operating procedures, preventive maintenance inspections, change controls, and quality reviews.
• Coordinate with contractors, support construction and commissioning activities, and maintain facility safety and cleanliness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a related degree or technical certification is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience working in a data center environment.
• Technical knowledge of electrical distribution, emergency and standby power, HVAC, fire protection, UPS systems, floor and rack PDUs, CRAH units, and BMS/CMMS monitoring systems.
• Ability to perform algebraic calculations, write reports, and interpret schematic and architectural drawings.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard software programs.

Nice to have

• Related technical degree or certification.
• Knowledge of networking hardware and software, including routers, switches, and protocols.
