Software Engineer (Hardware Test & Automation)

What you will do

• Design and maintain modular automation software, primarily in Python, for manufacturing and engineering design verification.
• Develop software for test articles, test equipment, instrumentation, and production documentation systems.
• Enable test execution across hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and virtualized simulations.
• Create algorithms to analyze complex test data and verify acceptance criteria.
• Build tools that improve software deployment, test execution, data analysis, and continuous integration workflows.
• Lead development and management of telemetry systems for development environments, including observability, performance monitoring, and data accessibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or another STEM discipline.
• 3+ years of software development experience in C, C++, Python, or full-stack software development.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and evidence of exceptional ability through projects, portfolios, or completed products.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows, configuration management, and version control.
• Experience with test infrastructure, build toolchains, telemetry systems, debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

• Experience automating manufacturing tests to improve yields and reduce production time.
• Knowledge of GPIB, USB, VISA, TCP/IP, VLAN, CAN bus, SPI, I2C, Modbus, and analog-to-digital conversion.
• Fundamental knowledge of networks, electronics, mathematics, and physics.
• Experience in fast-paced, highly technical engineering environments with tight time or budget constraints.
