Software Engineer, Reliability (Embedded Systems)

Location: Greater Seattle Area; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required for ITAR-controlled technology.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annually.

What you will do

• Own software reliability for avionics and high-performance compute systems from concept and integration through launch and on-orbit operations.
• Design and maintain automated test and validation frameworks for embedded and high-performance compute platforms.
• Validate CPU, GPU, and custom accelerator performance, stability, and fault tolerance under mission-representative conditions.
• Execute hardware-in-the-loop, environmental, system-level, and stress testing to identify failure modes.
• Investigate anomalies through root cause analysis, define reliability metrics and acceptance criteria, and improve system observability.
• Collaborate with electrical, avionics, and software teams during spacecraft integration, bring-up, and pre-flight validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, reliability engineering, or systems validation.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages.
• Experience with distributed systems, embedded systems, or high-performance computing environments.
• Experience building automated test frameworks or validation infrastructure.
• Familiarity with debugging complex system-level issues across hardware and software.

Nice to have

• Experience with avionics, spacecraft hardware, embedded compute platforms, or radiation testing.
• Familiarity with GPU or accelerator systems, CUDA, parallel computing, and performance profiling.
• Experience with HIL testing, system integration, observability, logging, and telemetry.
• Knowledge of fault tolerance, redundancy, and high-reliability system design.
