What you will do

  • Own EMI/EMC technical direction across spacecraft at unit and system levels.
  • Define grounding, bonding, isolation, shielding, and filtering architectures for avionics, power, RF, harnesses, boxes, and vehicles.
  • Lead EMI/EMC qualification and verification campaigns using MIL-STD-461 and GSFC-7000 (GEVS), including CE, CS, RE, and RS methods.
  • Perform pre-compliance analysis and design reviews, diagnose integration and qualification issues, and drive root-cause corrective actions.
  • Develop filter, shielding, cable, harness, PCB, and return-path mitigation guidance.
  • Build the EMI/EMC test capability, establish standards and processes, and mentor engineers across electrical, RF, power, mechanical, and harness teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional EMI/EMC engineering experience with unit- and system-level ownership.
  • Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC qualification to MIL-STD-461 and GSFC-7000 (GEVS) or equivalent standards.
  • Expertise in grounding, bonding, shielding, filtering, and EMI/EMC instrumentation such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, LISNs, antennas, current probes, and network analyzers.
  • Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance and meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or applicable authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Spacecraft, aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, or other mission-critical hardware experience.
  • Experience establishing an EMI/EMC test laboratory and using CST, HFSS, FEKO, or similar modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of DO-160, MIL-STD-464, CISPR, FCC requirements, and PCB- or box-level EMC layout techniques.
  • Experience with government or defense customer-facing design reviews and fast-paced startup environments.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work environment combining office and production-factory work.
  • Health, dental, vision, HRA/HSA options, paid time off, and paid holidays.
  • 401(k), parental leave, and equity participation.
