Company

hirify.global is building spacecraft-based data centers that use solar power and radiative cooling to scale computing capacity in orbit.

What you will do

  • Own the electrical architecture for spacecraft and payloads, including power generation, storage, distribution, conversion, avionics interfaces, compute interfaces, harnessing, and grounding.
  • Lead trade studies covering power architecture, battery sizing, solar arrays, power conversion, redundancy, fault protection, and avionics integration.
  • Prototype novel electrical architectures, test them on the ground, and validate them in orbit.
  • Deliver flight hardware from concept and design through procurement, manufacturing, integration, qualification, testing, and launch.
  • Own board-, subsystem-, and spacecraft-level electrical testing and use test data and on-orbit telemetry to improve future designs.
  • Hire, manage, and mentor the electrical engineering team while partnering with mechanical, thermal, avionics, software, systems, manufacturing, test, and operations functions.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience covering design, analysis, hardware development, integration, and testing.
  • Deep experience with power electronics, power distribution, batteries, solar arrays, grounding, EMI/EMC, harnessing, and avionics interfaces.
  • Track record of delivering electrical hardware optimized for performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and schedule.
  • Ability to manage engineers while remaining deeply hands-on.
  • Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements as a U.S. person or otherwise be authorized under U.S. export regulations.

Nice to have

  • Formal leadership of an electrical engineering team.
  • Spacecraft electrical hardware or other mission-critical hardware used in harsh environments.
  • High-power systems experience in spacecraft, data centers, automotive power electronics, grid-scale power, industrial controls, robotics, aviation, or defense.
  • Hands-on PCB development, harness fabrication, connector selection, EMI/EMC control, and manufacturing-constrained integration.

Culture & Benefits

  • In-person work within a small team of engineers in Redmond.
  • Fast, iterative design-build-test-fly development with unconventional architectures.
  • Stock options and discretionary bonuses.
  • Medical, vision, dental, disability, and life insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match, paid parental leave, vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed for critical project milestones.
