Salary: $147,600–$209,520 annually for the Senior EMI-EMC Engineer level. The broader California pay range is $120,540–$251,424 USD.

What you will do
- Develop EMI-EMC requirements for spacecraft and components, including in-space environmental requirements.
- Tailor industry standards for spacecraft and avionics systems.
- Guide cross-functional teams on EMI-EMC design and test best practices.
- Analyze and measure avionics sub-circuits, components, and systems to assess EMI-EMC performance and risk.
- Prepare launch-provider deliverables and support EMI-EMC qualification testing.
- Explain how EMI affects subsystems and disciplines across human-rated spacecraft.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related STEM discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in an EMI, EMC, or physics-related role.
- Experience with EMI/EMC, spacecraft charging, triboelectrification, grounding, and bonding.
- Experience with electronics or electrical systems design, digital communications standards, and MIL-STD-461 compliance testing.
- Experience developing software for electronic test equipment automation; Matlab or Python experience is relevant.
- Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires U.S.-person status or eligibility for a deemed export license.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related STEM discipline.
- Background in electromagnetics, ionizing radiation, and plasma effects on spacecraft systems.
- Strong accountability, integrity, written and verbal communication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
