Laser Design Engineer (InP Semiconductor Lasers)

Work focuses on the design, evaluation, and volume production improvement of InP semiconductor lasers at hirify.global.

What you will do

• Develop new and enhanced InP semiconductor laser designs, including DFB lasers and high-speed EMLs.
• Apply semiconductor material physics, optical science, and high-speed design technologies.
• Design laser products to improve production yield and reduce costs.
• Support stable volume production and improve manufacturing productivity.
• Design and fabricate evaluation parts such as submounts, evaluate chips, analyze data, and prepare reports.
• Present and discuss evaluation results in meetings.

Requirements

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 4 years with a master's degree, or no relevant experience required with a PhD.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in semiconductor laser design and development.
• Knowledge of compound semiconductors, including the InP material system and material physics.
• Experience designing semiconductor laser diodes for yield improvement and cost reduction, plus knowledge of semiconductor device reliability.
• Fluent Japanese and intermediate English are required.
