Company

hirify.global develops a full-stack quantum computing platform for real-world applications across science, finance, government, industry, and academia.

What you will do

  • Develop and manufacture microfabricated ion traps from concept creation and design through fabrication, packaging, and characterization.
  • Assess current and future ion-trap requirements and develop designs and processes that meet them.
  • Create new ion-trap features and components while generating intellectual property.
  • Work with scientists, engineers, and technicians to translate system requirements into functional hardware.
  • Identify fabrication risks, implement mitigation strategies, and support long-range planning.
  • Develop partnerships, supplier relationships, and co-development opportunities with external organizations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 8+ years with a Master’s degree, or 6+ years with a PhD in MEMS fabrication, IC fabrication, integrated optics, ion-trap fabrication, or chip-scale photonics.
  • Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or person granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Due to national security requirements, nationals of China or Russia must also be U.S. citizens.
  • Experience with microfabricated device design, process development, characterization, process integration, and semiconductor or MEMS manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of layout, thin-film deposition, patterning, photolithography, deep reactive ion etching, and 2.5D/3D packaging.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, initiative, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • PhD in Physics, Materials Science, or Engineering.
  • Experience developing ion traps, integrated photonics, or related devices.
  • Experience interfacing with a semiconductor foundry.
  • Experience working with a broad range of semiconductor and MEMS processing tools.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on quantum computing technology with a global team of scientists, engineers, and researchers.
  • Employer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with company match and student loan repayment benefit.
  • Equity opportunities, paid time off, sick leave, 12 paid holidays, and paid parental leave.
