Engagement Lead

Location: New York City; in-person work at the office 4–5 days a week

Salary: $160,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Own the accounting portion of multiple client implementations from sales handoff through post-launch stabilization.
• Partner with Controllers, CFOs, and finance teams to define current-state workflows and future-state processes.
• Configure charts of accounts, vendors, entities, transactions, charge codes, and accounting workflows.
• Validate client data, resolve inconsistencies, and ensure readiness for migration and system cutover.
• Lead post-launch reconciliations, financial data validation, close-process activation, and workflow stabilization.
• Deliver trainings, walkthroughs, and tailored demos while turning implementation learnings into repeatable processes and playbooks.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, product management, and/or founder or operator roles at high-growth startups.
• Background in accounting or finance, such as Controller, Senior Accountant, accounting consultant, or accounting-focused operator experience.
• Experience managing complex, client-facing implementations or projects.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including general ledger, reconciliations, close processes, and workflows.
• Comfort working with data, system configurations, and ambiguous requirements while managing multiple engagements.
• Willingness to work in person at the office 4–5 days per week.
