Manager, Claims Recovery

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States; hybrid schedule with three required in-office days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Base salary: $104,000–$130,000 annually in Phoenix, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and manage internal and outsourced recovery and collections agents.
• Oversee subrogation with guests and third-party insurance carriers, including evaluation, pursuit, and settlement.
• Manage external collections agencies, monitoring compliance, performance, and reputational safeguards.
• Design and implement strategies to improve recovery rates while protecting customer experience.
• Assess escalation paths to litigation by balancing cost, return, and reputational risk.
• Track recovery KPIs, vendor performance, and industry trends while partnering with claims, legal, and finance teams.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of subrogation, recoveries, and collections strategies.
• Proven experience managing internal teams and outsourced vendor partners.
• Ability to design, implement, and improve operational strategies using measurable results.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and escalation-management skills.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, compliance requirements, and recoveries and collections best practices.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and CRM or case management systems.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience in recoveries, subrogation, collections, or claims.
• 2+ years of related management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
