Staff Product Manager (AI)

Location: San Francisco HQ; on-site with significant travel to project sites, processing facilities, and mines

Estimated base salary: $180K–$210K annually, plus equity. Final salary depends on experience, location, and other factors.

What you will do

• Own a MarianaOS product domain end-to-end, from problem discovery and prioritization through delivery and operational adoption.
• Define products by analyzing operational performance data, working with domain experts, and establishing the required metrics and instrumentation.
• Spend time at mines, processing facilities, and project sites to understand workflows and prioritize based on operational knowledge.
• Work across hardware, software, AI, robotics, and industrial operations to build trusted tools for physical environments.
• Lead cross-functional teams through ambiguous, technically complex projects and make scope and trade-offs explicit.
• Help establish the product management function, including ways of working, prioritization, and PM development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product management experience in environments where software intersects with physical systems, industrial operations, or safety-critical applications.
• Ability to understand complex technical domains and build credibility with engineers.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through ambiguous projects with competing constraints.
• Intellectual curiosity about physical systems and operational workflows.
• Ability to communicate with technical experts, scientists, engineers, and field operators with different levels of software knowledge.
• Strong product judgment and ability to prioritize high-leverage work.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or fleet-scale operations.
• Hands-on experience with ML-powered products, especially reinforcement learning, process control, or optimization in production.
• Background in industrial software, digital twins, process automation, or digital transformation.
• Engineering or technical degree.
