Internal Systems Engineer (Applied AI)

Location: Remote or office-based in Columbus, New York City, or Santa Barbara, United States

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year, plus a 5% variable annual bonus and potential RSU grant.

What you will do

• Build and maintain AI-powered tools and agents for Support, Success, Onboarding, and Implementation teams.
• Design agentic workflows, RAG-based tools, Freshdesk integrations, and internal applications that automate operational processes.
• Build a shared agent platform with reusable templates, approved patterns, deployment infrastructure, monitoring, and API connectivity.
• Develop, host, monitor, maintain, and retire internal software, integrations, automations, and custom Freshdesk widgets.
• Partner with business stakeholders to turn process flows, logic, and prompt designs into production applications while enabling non-engineers to build their own agents.

Requirements

• Experience building, hosting, and maintaining production applications and tools with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Deep experience with REST APIs and integrating distinct SaaS platforms.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain or LangGraph, MCPs, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, DAG and linear flows, and human-in-the-loop systems.
• Experience evaluating and testing LLM outputs, including LLM-as-a-judge systems, AI CI/CD, and regression testing pipelines.
• Ability to map complex operational workflows, design reusable platforms, and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
• Remote work is associated with the United States, with office locations in Columbus, New York City, and Santa Barbara.

Nice to have

• Experience building custom applications or integrations for Freshdesk, Zendesk, Jira, or similar ticketing systems.
• Experience supporting Customer Support, Customer Success, or Onboarding teams.
• Experience integrating knowledge-base platforms such as GitBook.
• Experience taking automation projects from concept to deployment in large organizations.
• Experience with internal platforms, developer tools, and production AI monitoring and observability.
