CNC Machinist - 1st Shift

Location: Newburyport, Massachusetts, United States; onsite, 1st shift

Salary: $20.00–$41.24 per hour, depending on level and experience.

What you will do

• Operate CNC lathes and 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling machines using FANUC, Yasnac, Mitsubishi, Brother, and Heidenhain controls.
• Set up machines, manage work holding and tooling, establish tool offsets, and edit machine programs.
• Read manufacturing drawings and process sheets and complete first-article buy-off activities.
• Inspect parts during production to maintain dimensional and visual quality.
• Monitor equipment and tooling, identify breakdowns, and troubleshoot machining issues with colleagues.
• Support training for junior machinists and collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and other teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling centers, 2-axis and multi-axis live-tooling lathes, and the listed machine controls.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Ability to work in a team environment and support troubleshooting.
• Compliance with health, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
• Good hand-eye coordination.

Nice to have

• Experience using an offline tool presetting system.
• Experience with quick-change tooling.
• Completion of an Advanced Machine Technology course.
• Knowledge of 5S/6S.
