Heavy Equipment Operator

Location: On-site at Robot Ranch in Austin, Texas; relocation to Austin is required if not within commuting distance.

What you will do

• Operate excavators, bulldozers, graders, skid steers, and other advanced heavy equipment for site preparation and excavation.
• Use automation tools, tele-operation technology, and the proprietary Mission Control platform.
• Inspect equipment and onboard technology systems daily, reporting maintenance needs through digital platforms.
• Perform clearing, grading, grubbing, trenching, compaction, and excavation according to project specifications.
• Follow OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and site-specific safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance partners.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment for site preparation and excavation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Affinity with technological systems or construction software.
• Ability to read and interpret digital site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to relocate to Austin, Texas if not within commuting distance.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of earthworks processes, including grading, compaction, and trenching.
• High technology literacy and interest in drones, simulators, and digital tools.
