Reliability Test and Failure Analysis Engineer (Semiconductor)

Salary: $156,685.60–$235,028.40 per year, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and execute reliability test plans, protocols, methods, procedures, and acceptance criteria for new and existing technologies.
• Own assigned test stands and laboratory assets, including equipment requirements, configurations, maintenance, upgrades, instrumentation, software, and documentation.
• Perform benchtop testing, develop fixturing, and troubleshoot test failures, instrumentation issues, and data-collection problems.
• Analyze failed electro-mechanical modules and components, working with hardware and software teams to identify symptoms, root causes, and preventive actions.
• Prepare failure-analysis reports and develop methods to identify and prevent critical failure modes before product launches.
• Manage laboratory activities, test scheduling, risk assessments, DFMEA support, calibration, and reliability documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, reliability engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical design, reliability engineering, or failure analysis.
• Experience with robotic or semiconductor products.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Work location: Beverly, Massachusetts, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience operating and maintaining test stands, thermal and humidity chambers, and shock/vibration tables.
• Experience with data-acquisition applications and LabVIEW programming.
• Experience with optical or digital microscopy, fractography, sample mounting, and sample preparation.
• Expertise in materials characterization and spectroscopy techniques such as FTIR and XRF.
• Knowledge of SEMI standards or experience establishing and maintaining a reliability and failure-analysis laboratory.
