Rust Software Engineer (AI)

hirify.global is a startup developing custom chips and software systems for high-speed AI inference at large scale.

What you will do

• Build a reference implementation of a full AI inference stack in Rust, tuned to custom hardware.
• Develop Linux kernel drivers in Rust.
• Create cloud-based tooling for data centre workload deployments.
• Research the state of the art in AI inference and bring new ideas into the codebase.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers in an interdisciplinary hardware-software co-design process.
• Help define the architecture, engineering practices, and culture of a new Rust team.

Requirements

• Strong Rust skills, or senior-level C/C++ systems experience with demonstrable Rust proficiency through open-source or personal projects.
• Experience serving AI workloads with tools such as vLLM, SGLang, or Rust equivalents, or deep systems experience in low-latency data movement, paging, caching, or real-time processing.
• Solid computer science fundamentals and the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar code and identify areas for improvement.
• Ability to work autonomously on ambiguous and unfamiliar problems.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI inference frameworks or ML accelerator architectures.
• Prior startup or small-team experience.
• A portfolio of Rust projects.
