Senior Rust Software Engineer - Banking Platform (m/f/x)

Location: Berlin, Germany; opportunity to work from abroad. International relocation support is provided if required.

What you will do

• Design and build latency-sensitive Rust services for high-frequency data and financial decisioning.
• Implement robust, testable financial logic with strict correctness guarantees.
• Build and maintain streaming pipelines for real-time inputs, event processing, and feedback loops.
• Optimize CPU, memory, and network performance through profiling and benchmarking.
• Collaborate on API design, data models, and system architecture.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Rust, Docker, AWS, and Terraform.
• Strong Rust proficiency, including ownership, lifetimes, concurrency, async programming, and error handling.
• Experience building high-performance, low-latency production services.
• Strong understanding of latency, throughput, backpressure, and failure modes.
• Relevant university degree or comparable qualification, plus strong analytical and communication skills.
• Passion for well-architected, testable, and documented code.

Nice to have

• Experience using coding agents such as Codex or similar AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with domain-driven design, distributed architectures, or microservices.
• Background in financial services and exposure to compliance or audit requirements.
