Principal Software Engineer - Platform (Rust)

Location: Remote USA; US Citizenship or Greencard required due to US Government contract requirements.

Salary: $2,300,000–$3,000,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design and develop foundational components and frameworks for an Agentic AI platform.
• Build platform solutions that enable developers to create applications across multiple products and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers to support efficient ML workflows in enterprise environments.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot incidents, and address performance and scalability challenges.
• Shape platform architecture and stay current with design patterns, techniques, and technologies.

Requirements

• US Citizenship or Greencard required for US Government contract work.
• 15+ years of software and platform engineering experience, including large-scale distributed systems.
• Expert Rust experience developing high-performance systems.
• Experience building platform infrastructure and backend systems for multiple products and engineering teams.
• Expertise in database architecture, distributed databases, storage, indexing, data modeling, schemas, and high-throughput, low-latency data access.
• Experience designing systems for AI and machine learning workloads, plus familiarity with workflow engines, execution runtimes, and AI orchestration frameworks.

Nice to have

• Startup experience or comfort working in 0→1 product environments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
