Product Quality Engineer (NCG)

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year, depending on experience and education level; discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits may be available.

What you will do

• Develop failure-analysis infrastructure, including databases, to reduce time to root cause across circuit, package, firmware, and protocol-level issues.
• Support new product development by improving failure-analysis capabilities and documenting repeatable, scalable quality-engineering methodologies.
• Measure, characterize, and debug high-speed SERDES, PCIe, and Ethernet devices.
• Set up and use BERTs, high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, VNAs, TDRs, and spectrum analyzers.
• Collaborate with design, validation, hardware, and system engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve product reliability and manufacturing quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of high-speed serial interfaces, including PCIe, Ethernet, and SERDES.
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, TDRs, or spectrum analyzers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Internship or project experience in semiconductor quality, product engineering, or hardware validation.
• Exposure to signal integrity and high-speed measurement techniques.
• Experience with Python or SQL for data analysis and infrastructure development.
• Familiarity with semiconductor failure-analysis methodologies and PCIe or Ethernet protocol specifications.
