What you will do
- Design board-level manufacturing test hardware, including bed-of-nails fixtures and custom fixturing for PCBA validation and production testing.
- Define test strategies covering ICT, functional testing, programming, calibration, metrology, and end-of-line validation.
- Develop fixture electronics, interface boards, signal-conditioning circuits, switching architectures, and measurement systems.
- Drive design-for-testability requirements, including test-point strategy, coverage, fault isolation, debug access, and programming interfaces.
- Deploy, qualify, and sustain test solutions with contract manufacturers, supplier production sites, and internal production teams.
- Analyze test coverage, yields, failure trends, throughput, reliability, and manufacturing quality to improve test effectiveness.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, manufacturing test engineering, hardware validation, or product test development.
- Experience owning board-level and system-level test solutions from prototype builds through high-volume production.
- Proven experience with PCBA manufacturing test strategies, including ICT, bed-of-nails, flying probe, boundary scan/JTAG, functional testing, programming, calibration, and end-of-line validation.
- Strong knowledge of circuit design, schematic review, signal integrity, power distribution, analog and digital interfaces, and failure analysis.
- Hands-on experience designing and debugging custom test fixtures, interface boards, switching architectures, and automated test hardware.
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, electronic loads, and environmental test equipment, plus familiarity with Python-based test frameworks, MES, traceability systems, and test-result databases.
Nice to have
- Manufacturing test experience for consumer, automotive, autonomous, aerospace, defense, robotics, or other complex products operating in harsh environments.
- Experience with RF systems, radios, telemetry links, antennas, GPS/GNSS, electronic-warfare-resilient communications, and wireless performance validation.
- Experience testing high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, CAN, SPI, I2C, or MIPI.
