Materials and/or Environmental Licensing Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Remote; salary range and benefits are specific to Washington State. Work is subject to U.S. Government export-control review for foreign nationals.

Salary: $148,722–$193,146 per year

What you will do

• Develop and implement materials or environmental licensing project plans and strategies.
• Build and maintain schedules for preparing licensing submittals and obtaining regulatory approvals.
• Prepare, review, and submit environmental permit applications aligned with NRC, NEPA, and EPA requirements.
• Prepare for meetings, submittals, and ongoing communications with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate with partner organizations, design authorities, and engineering teams to deliver required licensing inputs.
• Participate in industry groups and apply lessons learned and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with substantial experience in the nuclear field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10–15 years of direct materials and/or environmental licensing experience.
• 10–15 years of direct experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
• 10–15 years of direct project management experience.
• Ability to follow strict quality assurance standards and manage deadlines independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to direct remote team members within a matrix organization.

Nice to have

• Experience working with plant design teams.
• Experience with advanced reactors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Professional.
