Robotic Process Engineer, Intern (Robotics)

What you will do

• Generate and modify CAD models for compatibility with RoboForming processes.
• Convert CAD designs into robot tool paths using internal software.
• Analyze process data and 3D scan results to assess part quality and recommend improvements.
• Design and execute design-of-experiments studies to optimize forming techniques and tool path strategies.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers on process workflows and technical decisions.
• Document processes, experiments, results, and analyses for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Expected to complete or have completed the final degree within one year of the internship's end.
• Experience in manufacturing, robotics, or prototyping through internships, research projects, or coursework.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Rhino.
• Familiarity with CAM, tool path generation, or basic robot programming, plus foundational data analysis skills using MATLAB, Python, advanced Excel, or similar tools.
• Ability to work on open-ended problems, collaborate across disciplines, follow instructions, and maintain safety in engineering or manufacturing environments.

Nice to have

• Surface modeling experience, industrial robot exposure, or familiarity with 3D scanning and inspection tools.
• Python scripting, automation, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, or digital manufacturing experience.
• Experience in production or team environments and understanding of engineering laboratory or manufacturing safety.
