TL;DR
Senior Manager, Construction Projects (Nuclear Manufacturing): Leading the full-lifecycle delivery of $100M–$500M TRISO-X nuclear fuel fabrication facility construction programs with an accent on field execution, subcontractor coordination, project controls, and nuclear-grade safety and quality. Focus on mobilizing construction sites, managing schedules and earned value, resolving non-conformances and change orders, and coordinating civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical scopes in NRC-regulated and DOE environments.

Location: Oak Ridge, TN; 5 days onsite. Travel up to 10%; working hours are 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday. Active construction-site work may involve rough terrain, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, occasional climbing and crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Salary: $165,000–$190,000 per year, base salary.

What you will do

  • Lead construction execution across the full lifecycle of complex nuclear, energy, and industrial capital projects.
  • Mobilize construction sites and oversee in-house teams, subcontractors, work packages, field instructions, and daily operations.
  • Coordinate engineering, quality, construction, project controls, physical security, owners, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Review estimates, schedules, specifications, drawings, and issue-for-construction documentation for constructability and best-value opportunities.
  • Track costs, material quantities, progress, and earned value while managing budgets, risks, change orders, and schedule impacts.
  • Lead material review boards, non-conformance and test-failure resolution, craft training, safety enforcement, and project-status reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Typically 12+ years of general experience, including at least 10 years in construction project management.
  • Track record delivering $100M+ capital projects in highly regulated nuclear, government, energy, industrial, or infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Integrated Project Delivery models, including budgets, contracts, GMP structures, and change orders.
  • Advanced project planning, scheduling, and progress-tracking expertise with Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools, plus civil/structural and electrical commercial-facility experience.
  • Proven field leadership, subcontractor coordination, stakeholder management, risk management, and enforcement of quality and safety protocols.

Nice to have

  • Experience with NQA-1, 10 CFR, DOE O 414.1D, NRC-regulated environments, or DOE projects.
  • Experience with modularization and other construction techniques focused on best value.
