TL;DR
Manager, Manufacturing Engineering (Nuclear) (Manufacturing & Quality): Leading the development, operation, and scaling of manufacturing capabilities for reactor components and assemblies with an accent on process development, facility readiness, equipment qualification, and workforce planning. Focus on building repeatable production systems, coordinating safety-critical infrastructure, and scaling from development builds to full-rate production.

Location: On-site in Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $140,000–$230,000 per year plus equity

hirify.global is developing mass-producible, inherently safe nuclear microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop manufacturing engineering and technician teams while setting priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
  • Develop and mature manufacturing processes for reactor components and assemblies from prototype through production.
  • Define process documentation, work instructions, tooling concepts, and quality controls.
  • Plan facility layouts, upgrades, material flow, safety requirements, and expansion pathways.
  • Coordinate the installation, commissioning, and qualification of manufacturing equipment and infrastructure.
  • Plan workforce capacity, shifts, and resources for development builds, pilot production, and full-rate production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or operations, including 3+ years in a people leadership role.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes for complex, regulated, or high-reliability products.
  • Experience with facility layout, equipment installation, and production ramp-up.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under export regulations.
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends when necessary to support critical milestones.

Nice to have

  • Experience in nuclear, aerospace, energy, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting permitting, regulatory interfaces, or safety-critical manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with advanced materials, precision fabrication, or complex assembly processes.
  • Experience scaling manufacturing from low-rate development builds to higher-volume production.
