Engineering Technician (Contract) (Aerospace): Building, assembling, wiring, inspecting, and testing aerospace components and complex mechanical and electrical systems with an accent on composite fabrication, precision fastening, tooling, and metrology. Focus on bridging engineering and manufacturing, troubleshooting assemblies, and improving production efficiency and safety during a nine-month contract.

Location: Englewood, Colorado; the role is also described as based in Lakewood, Colorado

Salary: $27–$40 per hour, with potential annual incentive and long-term incentives subject to company plans

What you will do

  • Build and assemble aerospace components from solid models, drawings, and process specifications.
  • Perform composite fabrication, including prepreg and wet layups, vacuum bagging, bonding, and oven or autoclave curing.
  • Drill, torque, and install fasteners, rivets, adhesives, and shims with precision.
  • Fabricate tooling and molds and assemble and wire electrical subassemblies and harnesses.
  • Operate shop equipment and metrology tools while supporting testing, inspection, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and mentor entry-level engineers on equipment, mechanical systems, and shop safety.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical training and at least one year of relevant hands-on experience in manufacturing or aerospace.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical assembly, electrical systems, and fabrication practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints and CAD models; familiarity with GD&T is preferred.
  • Experience with aerospace materials, composites, and precision measurement tools such as CMM and Romer Arm.
  • Sound judgment when fixing, modifying, and improving processes and assemblies.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and quality teams and learn areas such as welding, additive manufacturing, and advanced testing.
