CNC Machinist, III (Robotics)

What you will do

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs and setups for lathes and mills producing robotics components.
• Interpret mechanical and electromechanical drawings, GD&T requirements, and 3D CAD models.
• Select tooling, cutting parameters, and materials for precision parts made from aluminum, stainless steel, composites, plastics, and tool steels.
• Design and improve fixtures supporting repeatability, automation, and robotic handling.
• Run program tests and dry runs, verify dimensions, and adjust machining processes.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams on troubleshooting, cycle-time reduction, and robotic system compatibility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of CNC programming and machining experience in robotics, automation, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of CNC operation, G-code/M-code, and 3- to 5-axis programming.
• Experience with CAM software such as Fusion 360, Mastercam, or Siemens NX.
• Understanding of tight-tolerance machining, fixture design, and materials used in robotic assemblies.
• Attention to detail, disciplined documentation, and a methodical troubleshooting approach.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or technical certificate in manufacturing, machining, or a related field.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools.
• Exposure to robotic assembly or integration processes.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
