Power Integrity Engineer

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; flexible hybrid workplace model

Salary: $157,000–$176,000 USD per year, plus equity and other rewards.

What you will do

• Design and analyze power delivery networks for digital and analog SoC domains.
• Model regulator characteristics, including switching ripple and transient response, to support component selection.
• Use commercial simulation tools and 2.5D electromagnetic solvers to extract PCB and package impedance profiles and generate N-port models.
• Run time-domain and frequency-domain simulations to identify voltage droop, overshoot, and other supply-rail issues.
• Conduct laboratory measurements with programmable loads and oscilloscopes to validate power integrity designs.
• Collaborate with hardware, layout, and system integration teams on PDN improvements, design reviews, documentation, and architectural trade-off studies.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in power delivery and power integrity analysis for high-performance CPUs and compute SoCs.
• Proficiency with PowerSI, PowerDC, IDEM, H-Spice, and Keysight ADS.
• Experience with DC-DC converter design and PCB layout considerations, including stack-up assignment, power-plane partitioning, capacitor selection and placement, and microvia/PTH design.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for power integrity issues.
• Ability to comply with federally mandated U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of 2D, 2.5D, and 3D packaging technologies and related PDN challenges.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and other laboratory equipment for signal measurement and characterization.
• Proficiency in Skill, TCL, Python, or Matlab for design-flow automation and post-processing.
