TL;DR
Power Integrity Engineer (PDN/Voltage Regulation): Architecting and delivering robust power delivery networks for next-generation enterprise storage systems with an accent on voltage regulation, power integrity simulation, and thermal performance. Focus on optimizing transient response, qualifying power components, and diagnosing root-cause hardware failures across complex PCBA architectures.

Location: Onsite at the Santa Clara, California office

Salary: $180,000–$270,000 USD annual base salary, with potential incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

  • Architect and implement power delivery networks and high-efficiency voltage regulator designs for x86 CPUs and high-performance networking ASICs.
  • Run PI/PDN simulations to evaluate target impedance, voltage ripple, and transient response across motherboard and system architectures.
  • Select and qualify power components, including controllers, MOSFETs, inductors, and capacitors.
  • Establish design standards and processes that improve long-term hardware reliability.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering teams, Operations, Support, and external JDM manufacturing partners on root-cause failure analysis.
  • Deliver systemic design improvements that strengthen platform resilience and energy efficiency.

Requirements

  • Expertise in power integrity engineering, high-efficiency voltage regulator circuit design, and PDN optimization for enterprise-scale hardware systems.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard simulation tools such as Ansys SI-wave, HyperLynx PI, or equivalent.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for system-level hardware failure analysis.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into design improvements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional engineering teams and manufacturing partners.
  • Expected to work primarily from the Santa Clara, California office, except during PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
