Staff Process Engineer (Electroplating and CMP)

What you will do

• Own wet-process manufacturing engineering for electroplating and CMP in magnetic recording head wafer fabrication.
• Manage statistical process control for process chemistry and tool parameters, including film composition and thickness, deposition and removal rates, pressure, temperature, chemical concentration, and pH.
• Optimize uniform deposition and removal of metal and dielectric materials while maintaining process margins.
• Conduct failure analysis for process and tool deviations that cause defects or affect wafer quality.
• Introduce new processes and materials into manufacturing and maintain process maturity and control.
• Introduce and qualify new wet-process equipment for capacity improvements and technology advancement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience; Ph.D. preferred.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with electroplating and CMP techniques and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of operating and maintaining electroplating and CMP tools and related equipment.
• Proficiency in AI-driven data analytics, smart manufacturing systems, and statistical analysis tools such as JMP.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom wearing full-coverall garments for extended periods.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
